“Is chronic illness even real?”

I've lived through it too

If you live with chronic illness, you’ll have heard some of these comments:

Myth

01

“It’s all in your head”

The stigma around chronic illness can feel overwhelming, but let’s be clear. No, it’s not all in your head. No, you aren’t making it up. Your body is responding to trauma, stress, and illness and with support, you can recover.

“Have you tried yoga?”

The classic! Yes, gentle, mindful movement like yoga will support your recovery, but it’s not that simple. Returning to health (without flare ups!) is only possible with a comprehensive toolkit of strategies, like nervous system practises, and community.

“We all get tired!”

Has a doctor or family member said this to you? This is dismissive and invalidating. Fatigue from chronic illness is not “tiredness”. It’s debilitating. You deserve compassion and understanding as you begin to recover.

“You have to push through discomfort!”

We should never do this. Not listening to the signals your body is giving you isn't supportive of healing. Resting, moving gently, and working with your energy is vital. Breaking stress cycles, not staying in them, is how you heal.

“This is your new normal"

I’ve created two specific memberships gathering all my strategies and guidance to support you as you live with chronic illness.

Heal Good Self- Paced

All the resources you need for movement, meditation, and understanding the nervous system. A proven toolkit which you can work through bit by bit, as your energy and progress allows. You will have constant support from the Heal Good online Slack community.

Perfect for you if: you are confident in working solo, prefer to take your time, like to make progress in your own way.

Heal Good VIP

All the modules and guidance from the self- paced modules, including the Slack community, but with direct support from me too. Each month you’ll speak to me in a live 60- 90- minute Somatic Healing call. It’s a virtual call focused on live coaching and somatic exercises which regulate your nervous system. In each call you’ll be coached yourself, or you’ll observe another member being coached. In this safe, non-judgemental space you’ll explore blocks and reflect on possible solutions. At the end of the call there’s a Q&A where you can find answers to your specific questions. You also have access to a series of four prerecorded, information- packed workshops on the nervous system, designed to support your recovery.
 

Perfect for you if: you prefer learning live and visually, you are energised by learning with others, and if you like to have verbal reassurance you’re on the right path.

It’s important, before signing up to Heal Good, that you consider if this is the right time for you to start this membership

Simply, the Heal Good Membership is for people who have been to the doctors with lots of unexplained and seemingly unrelated strange symptoms, including but not limited to: widespread pain, tingling, extreme fatigue, delayed onset fatigue/ PEM, heart palpitations, anxiety, digestive issues, chills/ sweats, and muscle weakness. If you’ve had various tests and scans but the doctors are unable to reach a diagnosis, or you have been diagnosed with ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, long covid, or similar related conditions, then the exercises in the Heal Good memberships can help. These symptoms are likely to be linked to an over- sensitive nervous system and Heal Good is designed to support you in regulating your nervous system.
